I am really impressed by the topics chosen by the groups. It’s great to see young people being aware of what is going on in the world, and in the in which communities they live. It’s great to see them being bold and not being afraid to do research and discuss topics that most people will not dare to talk about, yet these topics affect people the most. This gives me hope because young people are the future, and our future is in good hands. The students collaborated well together and displayed creativity in their presentations and research processes. The effort and hard work they put in were quite evident.

I was really impressed by the fact that the level of English for these Chinese secondary schoolers are much more beyond my expectations. The students showed a strong confidence when speaking in English and answering questions as well. All of them had strong points when it comes to their strategies of expressing their opinions and their English skills. To sum up, great experience being an audience of this spectacular debate, I've seen how Chinese kids are so dedicated to learning English as their second language and how hard they worked on their projects. Great job guys!

The presentation was based on a very relatable topic. The topic was very well researched. I was impressed by the surveys done and the different charts used to depict the survey results. Students had a wonderful coherency in their presentation. Every key point was well introduced and questions were answered wisely and fluently.

The event featured intriguing presentations and extensive research by articulate, focused students. Students' presentations exposed many issues that call for public concern. Although some of the points may be somewhat cliche, their exploration is applaudable. All groups did well and clearly evidenced research. It was great to be able to join this event.

I think that the idea behind the event was good and it is very interesting to see the contributions of the students, their choices of topics, and the research they had put into this. All of these presentations lifted some real issues of concern. Students did extensive research, including surveys and interviews, and were able to present some findings based on the research. The presentations were also conducted well and the questions during Q&A session were given thoughtful answers. You could see that all the groups had put a lot of work and effort in it. Of course there is still some to improve, but I believe all in all it was a good experience for the students.

It was a complete pleasure to have the chance to listen to the speakers in the 2020 YOC. I found each of the projects highly interesting and compelling. It was fascinating the way how these young students addressed different issues and situations that are affecting and concerning Chinese society these days. Usually, young people tend to focus their interest on other kinds of topics, so it is gratifying to know that there's a sense of social responsibility among them. I really hope they continue developing their ideas in a deep manner, but especially, that they can take advantage of these kinds of spaces to be change-agents in their communities, schools, and even own homes. Congratulations to all of them.

First of all, I would like to say a very big thank you to the organizers of this event, judges and speakers. I was educated properly on the various topics discussed. The students (speakers) put in a lot of effort into research and presentation. It was a wholesome experience, quite informative and unforgettable. I must say, the use of logic and analysis by the contestants was highly impressive and the delivery style and patterns were very lovely as well. I appreciated how all the speakers were able to revel in the forum atmosphere and executed properly their various presentations, communication and eye contact skills was excellent.
